This course introduces you to simple vocabulary, such as greetings and numbering. It will help you to practice the Korean alphabet, Han-Geul. And provides a background to the Korean culture. Expressing and understanding oneself in simple everyday conversations by making simple sentences from 800 basic words.
This course covers the following topics:
- Brief introduction of Han-Geul
- Greetings and meeting people
- Korean Alphabet writing system/ pronunciation
- Talk about everyday life
- Telling the time, dates, and months
- Numbers –sino number and pure numbers

You will learn how to introduce yourself, meet and greet others , describe your day, discuss the past and future, and start to develop your verbal and communication skills. Discussing of familiar topics employing a vocabulary of about 1500 – 2000 words

- Daily routines and places where activities take places, eg “ I read a book in the library”
- Past events and future plans
- Discussing one’s experiences
- Asking and answering questions and directions
- Using transportation
